This workshop is designed for teachers and education professionals who wish to address everyday pedagogical challenges from a transdisciplinary perspective. Through the analysis of the school curriculum, participants will explore strategies to design learning experiences that are contextualized, inclusive, and focused on the development of thinking skills.

  • Design inclusive and transdisciplinary learning experiences.

  • Design experiences aligned with the VESS pedagogy.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Explore key concepts from cognitive neuroscience applied to learning.

  • Recognize the emotional impact on cognitive processes.

  • Analyze the use and potential of educational AI.

  • Case analysis and collaborative reflection.

  • Visible thinking routines (Project Zero, Harvard).

  • Use of simulations and digital tools with AI.

Workshop: Caring and Transformative Environments – Neuroeducation and Relational Learning

Workshop Leader: Teresita Vergara de la Carrera
Master’s in Neuroeducation (University of Barcelona) and Educational Management (University of the Andes). Founder of MielinaED. Over 20 years of experience as a teacher, trainer, and advisor in evidence-based educational transformation.

Date: October 10, 2025
Duration: 4 hours (in-person)

Description:
A workshop to reimagine the classroom as a space for justice, well-being, and deep learning. Grounded in neuroeducation, it explores how to create safe, inclusive, and emotionally nurturing environments that promote participation, equity, and holistic development. The session includes practical tools to cultivate positive relationships, foster a growth mindset, and manage conflict effectively.

Objectives:

  • Understand the impact of the emotional environment on learning.

  • Empower teachers in their role as affective and ethical leaders.

  • Apply strategies to build respectful and collaborative classroom communities.

  • Develop social-emotional skills in the classroom.

Methodology:
A participatory session based on neuroeducation, case studies, practical activities, and critical reflection. Strategies will be modeled for immediate classroom application.

Target Audience:
Teachers at all levels, educational leaders, school climate teams, and professionals interested in creating safe and transformative learning environments.
