 Ana María FernándezEdu1st Founder and VESS Creator

Ana María Fernández

Ana Maria Fernandez is a VESS Trainer and Coach. She is Edu1st’s President and Co-
founder. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Preschool Education, and a Master’s degree in International Educational Management. Ana Maria has over 20 years of experience, implementing a Culture of Thinking in Education First’s five educational centers in southern Florida, USA, and two International Schools in Bogota, Colombia; in addition to partnering with collaboration center in the USA, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Spain.

 

Ana Maria has dedicated her life’s work to the improvement of education, through the integration and implementation of different methodologies, such as: Harvard University’s Visible Thinking conceptual framework, the Theory of Constraints (TOC), Parallel and Lateral Thinking methodologies of De Bono, among others.

 

She is a certified coach from the De Bono Group to teach the Six Thinking Hats and Parallel Thinking Strategies, as well as USA Thinking Maps. Ana Maria has collaborated as an Observer in the WIDE Program online course from Harvard University. She is the author of the VESS Educational Model (Meaningful Life with Balance and Wisdom). She has been a speaker at Education and Leadership International Conferences, and a 4 times speaker at the ICOT (International Conference of Thinking). Ana Maria is a consultant in educational centers interested in the implementation of TPS and in creating Cultures of Thinking and Learning.

Gilberto Pinzón

Gilberto Pinzon is a VESS Trainer and Coach. He is Education First Inc.’s Vice-president and Co-founder. Gilberto is a maxillofacial surgeon and university teacher and has a Master’s degree in Management. He helps in the development of the VESS Model and its implementation in schools in the USA, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Spain, and China, which are in the way of promoting meaningful learning, thinking abilities and habits of mind. Gilberto has been certified as a Parallel Thinking and USA Thinking Maps International Trainer by the De Bono Group USA.

 


He has participated as a speaker on several occasions in The International Conference of Thinking (ICOT), as well as numerous international conferences regarding strategic thinking and innovation.

Ximena Paul

Ximena es Ingeniera Industrial de la Universidad Católica de Chile, y ha dedicado su carrera a la educación utilizando sus habilidades en el desarrollo de proyectos para garantizar que las organizaciones logren sus objetivos de acuerdo con sus valores y misión.

 

Durante los primeros seis años de su carrera, trabajó en varios puestos en DUOC, el instituto técnico / vocacional más grande de Chile. Comenzó como asistente del presidente, y su trabajo incluyó el manejo de la relación con el gobierno en asuntos relacionados con la educación. Más tarde fue la directora académica más joven de la Escuela de Ingeniería de la sucursal más grande y de más rápido crecimiento de DUOC (más de 11,000 estudiantes), y luego su Directora de Asuntos Estudiantiles.

 

Ximena asumió como CEO de Educations el 1 de octubre de 2017.

Santiago Carrillo

Santiago Carrillo dirige la estrategia de crecimiento de la empresa y supervisa las operaciones diarias, incluidas, finanzas, marketing, TI y recursos humanos.

Santiago Carrillo tiene una maestría en Administración de Empresas de la Universidad del Sur de California y más de 10 años de experiencia en ventas, mercadotecnia, finanzas y tecnología en organizaciones internacionales pequeñas y grandes.

Ana María Conde

Ana Maria Conde is an anthropologist and VESS Coach and Trainer. She is an expert in Theory of
Constraints for education and is an international yoga instructor for children.

 


She is in charge of the services area, working hand-in- hand with the VESS Centers and the innovation
processes that feed the VESS Model.

 

Ana Maria is involved in volunteering for different organizations, seeking to impact people’s quality of life through the development of thinking and the acquisition of life tools.

Silvana Carpio

Silvana Carpio is a VESS Coach and Trainer. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Education with high honors,
has a Master’s degree in Business Management, majoring in Human Resources. Silvana has been with
Edu1st for over 5 years, starting as a teacher in the 3-year- old classroom, and a year later she started
working as an International Trainer going to different countries such as Peru and Argentina.

 


In 2012 she became an international speaker leading an international institute in Buenos Aires,
Argentina; she was a speaker at the ICOT in Bilbao, Spain in 2015. Between the years 2012 – 2015
Silvana led two of Edu1st schools: Bright Minds International Academy and Brickell International
Academy.

 

Currently, she is a national and international trainer, has a 7-year experience in the field of
education and 5 years of experience as a trainer and director.

Anna ha estado en la compañía por alrededor de 7 años. Ella comenzó como Profesora Principal en VIP Kids Bilingual Preschool. Después de 4 años en el salón de clase, ella fue promovida como Directora de Bright Minds International Academy; y por los últimos años, Anna ha sido a la vez Formadora del Currículo VESS.

 

Anna es de Venezuela y Licenciada en Educación Prescolar en Caracas, Venezuela.

Aura Miquel

Aura a estado con Edu1st por más de 10 años; Ella empezó como profesora y llego a ser la Directora de VIP en el 2013 así como Formadora Internacional de nuestro Modelos VESS.

 

Aura es de Venezuela y es licenciada en Educación Preescolar en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello en Venezuela, y tiene 18 años de experiencia en el campo.

Claudia Arrigada

Claudia Arriagada is a VESS Trainer. She has a bachelor’s degree in Educational Processes and a master’s
degree in Educational Management and Direction; she is a Basic General Education’s teacher, with a
postgraduate degree in mathematical teaching. She has over 30 years of experience, in which she has
been a Directive in the Padre Hurtado School and Juanita de los Andes School. Claudia has also beenfocused in teaching and accompanying directives and teacher through trainings, and social development and academic programs.

 


Claudia has focused essentially in the organization, structure and development of curriculums, the
accompaniment of teachers, students and legal guardians; she has worked with multidisciplinary teams
and has developed programs and educational projects, as well as advising and coordinating training
programs. Since 2013, Claudia has been working in consulting and training with Agape – Education,
focused in schools with a high social and economic vulnerability, installing projects that allow an
educational change in Chile.

Andrea Sanhueza

Andrea Sanhueza is a VESS Trainers. She has a master’s degree in Educational Management and Direction and she is a kindergarten teacher. Andrea has over 20 years of experience, in which she has been a teacher, a preschool academic director in Padre Hurtado ad Juanita de Los Andes Schools; she has also been dedicated to innovating pedagogical development, support learning, and the comprehensive training of everyone involved, as well as accompanying and guiding many students’ learning, alongside their families.

 


Andrea has been working with Agape Corporation for 6 years, accompanying and developing projects that involve the entire community and that lead to the improvement of learning and coexisting. She has been focused, along Agape, to reach students, teachers, and families that for some reason are in a disadvantage in the Chilean educational system, by contributing to improve the learning and in this way change their surroundings and everyone’s life.

María Rosario Pérez

Maria Rosario Perez Sanchez is a VESS Coach and Trainer. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English
Philology from the Universidad de Murcia. She is a Piano Professional, Sol-fa, Music Theory, Transport
and Accompaniment Teacher, and a Musical Pedagogy Teacher from the ‘Conservatorio de Musica’ of
Murcia, Spain.

 


Maria Rosario is Learning based on Thinking Coach, certified by The Center for Teaching by Dr. Robert
Swartz. She is also a music and English teacher at the Salzillo Bilingual School and is the head of the
Music department and Director of the “Luis Cases” Chorus.

Maria Luisa Cases de Lara is a VESS Coach and Trainer. Maria Luisa has a Bachelor’s degree in English
Philology and is a Social Science and English High School Teacher.

 


Maria Luisa is the Pedagogical Director at the Salzillo Bilingual School, the CEO of Denueve consulting,
and a Certified Coach from The National Center for Teaching Thinking by Dr. Robert Swartz. She gives
national and international conferences and seminars regarding the application of critical and creative
thinking within the educational curriculum.

Ana Fontaine

Ana Fontaine is a VESS Trainer. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from the Diego
Portales University, has a Diploma in Classroom Psychology and Childhood Psycho-diagnosis from the
Catholic University.

 


She has over 10 years of experience in the field of education as a School Psychologist, and in different
pedagogical innovative programs focused on the development of skills for the XXI century. She has been
certified by Edu1st, and she did an internship in the schools of the VESS Network in the US; Ana is the
Educational Innovation Coordinator in a school network, and is an educational manager in Estudios y
Consultorías Focus.

 Catalina IzquierdoVESS Coach and Trainer

Catalina Izquierdo

Catalina Izquierdo is a VESS Coach and Trainer. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the
Diego Portales University. She has worked as an Educational Psychologist in schools, and as technical
adviser in curriculum and school life themes.

 


Catalina has a broad experience in consulting and advising in educational institutions.

Amparo Fernández

Amparo Fernandez is a VESS Trainer and Coach. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the
Universidad de Murcia. She is a mathematics high school teacher, as well as the head of the
Mathematics department at the Salzillo Bilingual School.

 


Amparo is a Learning based on Thinking Coach, certified by The Center for Teaching Thinking by Dr.
Robert Swartz.

Paulina Fernández

Paulina Fernandez is a VESS Trainer. She is certified in Teaching for Understanding and has a master’s
degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Assessment. She has been part of the Notre Dame
School for 10 years, where she has been a History Teacher, Chief Teacher, and the History Department
Head, currently she is the school’s Academic Vice Chancellor.

 


Paulina has developed researches regarding schools and universities’ classroom environment and self-
assessment. She has also worked for more than 5 years in teacher training, accompanying teachers in
different educational institutions in reflection processes regarding didactics and learning assessment.
